AA (Alcoholics Anonymous): 12 Step recovery is still the bedrock on which all modern treatment systems are based.
Aging and Addiction: Website for the Hazelden Guidebook of the same name. This book was co-authored by Debra Jay.
Al-Anon: An important resource for families once the alcoholic or addict is in treatment. However, some individuals in Al-Anon may be hostile towards the concept of intervention.
Cinnamon House: A sober residence for women, founded by Debra Jay.
Families Anonymous: An excellent group for families that are dealing with a chemically dependent loved one. FA tends to be more open to intervention.
Intervention Workshop: A membership site containing intervention videos that teach families how to to a good, structured family intervention without hiring a professional interventionist. Featureing Debra Jay and Jeff Jay.
Love First: Resources for planning a structured intervention, including finding a treatment center, professional intervention, intervention videos and a recovery bookstore. Love First was co-authored by Debra Jay.
National Association for Children of Alcoholics: A dedicated group that fights for the needs of children living in alcoholic households.
National Institute for Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism: Part of the National Institutes of Health, NIAAA is a tremendous resource of information. Also see NIDA for drug addiction.
